Accessibility Statement

How Mittro measures up to WCAG 2.2 Level AA, what we have fixed, what is still outstanding, and how to tell us about a barrier.

Last reviewed: October 5, 2026

Hackney Enterprises Inc. builds Mittro to be usable by everyone who has to work in it - dispatchers on a keyboard all day, techs on a phone in bright sun, and office staff using a screen reader.

Conformance status

Mittro partially conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. "Partially conforms" means most of the product meets the standard and some parts do not yet. We use that term deliberately rather than claiming full conformance, because we have not yet completed an independent third-party audit.

This statement covers two things: the Mittro application at mittro.app, and this website, getmittro.com.

What we have done

  • Every form control is programmatically tied to its error message and its help text (aria-describedby, aria-invalid), so a screen reader announces what went wrong on the field it went wrong on - not just red text a sighted user can see.
  • A skip link on every page, in the application and on this website, so keyboard users can jump past the navigation instead of tabbing through it on every screen.
  • Visible focus indicators on interactive controls, in light and dark mode on this website.
  • The narrow-screen navigation wraps in the application instead of forcing the page to scroll sideways at 320px. On this website it collapses into a menu button that reports whether it is open, closes with Escape, and is shown open when JavaScript is off.
  • Data tables on our pricing and comparison pages have captions and scoped row and column headers, and can be scrolled with the keyboard on narrow screens.
  • Semantic headings and landmarks, one h1 per page, and a descriptive page title on every screen.
  • Colour contrast: we computed the contrast of every text and background colour pair this website uses, in both light and dark mode, and fixed the ones under the AA minimum. Our accent colour on light backgrounds is a darker teal chosen to pass AA for text; the bright brand teal is used only on dark surfaces.
  • Reduced motion: this website turns off smooth scrolling and transitions when your system asks for reduced motion.
  • No cookie banner to trap keyboard users, because this site uses cookieless analytics and sets no tracking cookies.
  • Automated accessibility checks run in continuous integration on the application and on this website, so the fixes above cannot silently regress.

What is not done yet

We would rather list these than let you discover them:

  • No independent third-party audit yet. Our testing is internal: automated checks in CI, a review of the code and styles, and computed colour contrast.
  • No recorded screen-reader pass yet, on the application or on this website, and no testing on real phones and tablets for this website. The automated checks cover structure - headings, landmarks, labels, link names, table headers - not how a screen reader actually announces a page.
  • The mobile application has not had a full accessibility pass. It is built with React Native's accessibility APIs but has not been systematically tested with VoiceOver and TalkBack.
  • PDF documents we generate (estimates and invoices) are not yet tagged for accessibility.
  • Some data tables in the application scroll horizontally on small screens rather than reflowing.
  • We have not yet published a VPAT (Voluntary Product Accessibility Template). If you need one for a procurement process, contact us and we will prioritise it.

Assistive technology and browsers

We aim to support the two most recent major versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge, and the screen readers that ship with them, VoiceOver and NVDA in particular. Until the screen-reader pass above is done, treat that as our target rather than a tested result, and tell us where it falls short.

Feedback and how to reach us

If you hit an accessibility barrier in Mittro, tell us and we will treat it as a bug, not a feature request.

Email hello@getmittro.com with the page or screen, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology you were using if any. We aim to respond within two business days.

If you need information from Mittro in an alternative format, ask and we will provide it.

Formal complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response, contact Hackney Enterprises Inc. at hello@getmittro.com and ask for the matter to be escalated. Public-sector customers with obligations under Section 508 or their state equivalent should contact us directly so we can work through the specific requirements with you.
